MATTHEW E. MCMANUS, Chairman

Matthew McManus has more than 16 years of experience in the commercial real estate finance industry. As chairman of Bluestone Real Estate Capital since 1998, he has been instrumental in raising more than $4 billion in equity and dept capital for the firm’s nationwide clients.  His primary responsibilities include leading the firm’s operations and engineering the firm’s strategic positioning within the industry. He leads the origination of business, oversees structuring transactions to appeal to Bluestone’s institutional and private investors and is responsible for the development of investor and lender relationships to support the firm’s transactional business.
 
Most recently, Mr. McManus was the recipient of the Philadelphia Business Journal’s prestigious 40 under 40 award, noting proven performers and leaders within their respective industries.  Matthew also earned NJPA journal’s financing deal of the year 2007 award.
 
As an investment banker, Mr. McManus provides advisory services to the country’s top real estate owners and developers.  A significant part of his career has been dedicated to structuring, recapitalizing and leading real estate owners through the emergence and recovery of pending foreclosure and bankruptcy.  In addition to his involvement with Bluestone, he currently serves on several advisory boards with companies within Bluestone’s real estate investment portfolio. Mr. McManus has been responsible for structuring and bringing to market some of the industry’s most innovative financing.
 
After graduating from St. Lawrence University in 1991, Mr. McManus launched his career in the real estate finance industry and joined the firm as an associate in 1993. He is currently involved in a variety of civic and charitable institutions.
